The PistonSeq app complies with its obligations under the terms of the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 in the Republic of Ireland. It is the “data controller” of any personal information which you provide to it, and it respects your right to personal privacy. It will collect and use information only in the ways disclosed in this statement.
This statement applies solely to information collected on www.pistonseq.net.
PistonSeq collects two types of information:
This is data that identifies you or can be used to identify or contact you, and may include your name, email address, computer IP address and the actions you take. If you register with PistonSeq, such information is collected from you in the course of your use of the app.
Like most websites and web apps, PistonSeq gathers statistical and other analytical information collected on an aggregate basis of all visitors to the app. This non-personal data comprises information that cannot be used to identify or contact you, such as browser type, platform type, length of visit, country of origin and other anonymous statistical data involving the use of the app. None of this information can personally identify you.
Personal data is used to facilitate your use of PistonSeq. It may also be used to track your usage of the app, in the event of a complaint by another user.
Non-personal data gathered from visitors to the app is used in an aggregate form to get a better understanding of where the visitors come from and to help improve the app.
Your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties except in the case where required to do so in order to comply with an applicable law or other statutory requirement. Non-personal data may be provided to third parties, where such information is combined with similar information of other users: for example, we may use an analytics service such as Google Analytics.
PistonSeq uses cookies to facilitate your use of the app; it will not function correctly without them.
A cookie is a small data file that a website or web app places on your hard drive for future use. Cookies can record your preferences when visiting a particular site and can help identify user trends for statistical analysis; they are also used to maintain users sessions while logged in. Most browsers automatically accept cookies by default, but you can usually refuse cookies or selectively accept cookies by adjusting the preferences in your browser; however, PistonSeq will not function correctly if you do this.
You may inform the app administrators of any changes in your personal data, and in accordance with our obligations under the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 we will update or delete your personal data accordingly.
To find out what personal data we hold on you, to request a copy of your personal data or to have your personal data updated, amended or removed from our database, please contact the administators at info@pistonseq.net.
Your personal data is held securely by the PistonSeq app, and the app is available only over a secure, encrypted connection using HTTPS. The nature of the Internet is such that no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. However the app administrators take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data.
If problems arise, users may contact the PistonSeq administrators by email.
Any changes to the privacy statement will be posted here so you are always aware of what information is collected, how it is used, and under what circumstances, if any, it is disclosed.
